Now this is irony...

This weekend I decided to go out and buy paper for my giveaway.

Today, all of my patterned paper was ruined (about 2 feet worth), and is good for scraps. :(

The giveaway paper was still safely on my sofa, since I'm such a procrastinator. So, keep telling me about your summer activities below for a chance to win it.

Blog Candy Time!

To celebrate joining the Savvy N' Sassy Design Team, I am giving away sweetness! And stay tuned to my blog, I plan on giving away a ribbon kit every month for the rest of this year! :D From Savvy N' Sassy of course!

You will get 24 sheets of MAMBI Sunshine papers, which include glittered and UV papers! (I don't know yet if these will be trimmed or not depending on shipping!) 120 centimetres of each ribbon, for a total of 360 centimetres of American Craft Ribbon, and 4 thank you stamps. The small ones are 3x3cm, "My deepst gratitude" is about 6.5x6.5cm and the "thank you very much" stamp is 6x7.5cm!

What do you need to do? Well all you need to do is leave a comment telling me what your favourite summer activity is! This is a good old fashioned pull your name from a hat draw, so for every person who you refer and they mention your name, you get an extra draw ticket! I'll see if we can set up our camera to record a "live" draw!!! :D You have until Saturday July 5th to post your comments!! Good luck!! :)

A few layouts from the crop

Here are some of the layouts that I scrapped over the weekend at the crop, this isn't even all of them!!! I am way too tired to write up anything about any of them, but feel free to ask questions, if you have any! :) The first one here the "paper" in the background is actually packaging from prima crystals, nifty eh?

A fave:
The C/S is covered in an old scarf:

My absolute fave, the picture makes my heart melt, and so does the word, "sniff!"

I love this one, the circle type border is inspired by Lori Mancini, DT at Just Cre8.

Scraplift from a blog, not sure where, it was a challenge.. "a little far east" or something?

There's some candy for your eyes. (I hope) :) If you want to see anything closer, just click on the image!

I have the best DH....

He knows how down I've been lately...and I'm really trying not to be for his sake. He always thinks that if he could do more, I would be happier...if he made more money, I could stay home...etc.

For about a week he has been working on a "secret" project. This is what he did, for me. He made this award, the "baw-baw" award:

"2008 Mumumum" What my 7 month old Alex calls me. :) How sweet is this?

The inscription at the top says, "Golden Baw Baw Award; Best Mumumum In A Nurturing Role"

It's so sweet that he worked on getting this together...and he gave it to me with tears in his eyes. He really worked hard on it, and he did it with love. I really, really do have the best partner that I could ever ask for. I wish I could do more for him.

My Scrap Space Part I

Well, first of all, thanks everyone for your encouraging words, I really appreciate it! I had a difficult day today, I am really depressed about the work/daycare situation. Because of the shortages, my options are limited. The spot available, may not be worth it... I will explain that in another post, maybe over the weekend.

Today, I just want to share some pics of my scraproom...well corner I guess...scrapbook nook? LOL. It's actually a corner of my living room, behind the large sofa. This post will be in several parts (teehee) because there is just too much to fit into one post...and if someone walks away with a good idea, hey!

Don't mind the white walls, we're renters. *sigh* Anyways, if you wanna see anything closer, as usual click on the pic!

Ok, I had a spice rack in my kitchen that NEVER got used. Seriously the parsley...had turned white. :o So I cleaned the jars out, reserved those for later...might need them? lol. Most of the spices I use come in a container that is just more convenient, anyways. Wasn't too sure what I was going to do with it...but then *click* I thought how awesome it would be to see my HS paints! There's 12 colours, so it worked out perfect! Check it out: This glass jar...is SO filled with goodness....you can't even SEE all the yummy ribbons..because this seriously holds like 12 litres..it's MASSIVE!!! I picked it up at Value Village last week for 5.99. It still has the Made in Romania sticker you can see on the left..hehe. I was actually looking for a cookbook, when I saw this in the corner of my eye...and I hummed and hawwed, cause 6 bucks, and I'm trying to be frugal....but you know what, it was a good deal! Jamie said just get it, cause you'll regret it later! (He knows me so well!) Another awesome find is this WAY COOL spice rack. At least I think that's what it's meant to be? It holds 6 of these air tight snap jars. I love this beyond belief. I've had it for a couple months now..it was holding different flowers, but I've reorganized all my flowers today. 4.99 at Salvation Army. What do you think, cool eh?

Here is a close up view, I've decided to put in all those Got Flowers? in them..you know the ones where we had to have a dozen jars of? Wow, Prima sure has come a long way!
Here is a view of that whole setup. It's on top of my hutch on my desk. Paints in the back, the FREAKING cool jars in front of it...then I have (a few) doodlebug sugar coating bottles in front of that, and then the stickles glitter glues in front of that.
This is the jar that held those ribbons in that GINORMOUS jar posted above, until today. This was such a score for me. 2.99 at Salvation Army. The ribbon is what I had in mind for it! Now it is full to the brim of primas...literally thousands, don't be fooled by it's size! It easily holds over 4 litres for sure! The primas are SQUISHED in there! :D
Now, the mm jar is recycled. It was the Love Story Embellishment Jar. I've stuffed as many of my mm buttons in there as it could hold. I have a little more of them, but that's all I'll get in there! The buttons are no longer up here with the flowers/paint/glitter. I changed my mind and keeping all my buttons together.
The cool jar, is from a candle. One of those large $10 ones at Walmart, it was tri coloured. I got the labels off by using an alcohol swab, and the rest of the icky wax, by turning it upside down in the sink and running hot water on it. The wax slid right out!
This is the small size of Dollarama square jar. It comes in 3 sizes. You can see how I used the large one for candy back in the February posts. This contains most of my mm florals/felt flowers.
Another candle jar! These things are so reusable, eh? I love this one, because of the awesome lid. It's a special jar. Jamie bought me a really nice candle when I was in the hospital as part of a little gift bag he brought for me. :) There are 2 boxes of Prima Essentials 3 in here! :O
Ok, I LOVE these little jars..soooo cute! .99 at Value Village! Hello, can you go wrong? This one holds 2 colours of prima sprites or something like that, you can see the yellow at the bottom, kaiser craft flowers in all colours and a hunkload of prima painterlies..oh yeh, I'm hooked on prima painterlies!

Another .99 jar! This one holds 2 packages of mm glitter flower clears. Love these little guys, and I need them out so I can remember to use them!
I couldn't resist grabbing one more .99 jar! lol I was giddy as I washed them, knowing they would hold little treasures. This one holds the large HS flowers, Bazzill flowers, Heidi Grace sparkly ones, and misc others.
Who would have thought! Using prima bottles to store flowers! LOL. The far left is a jar full of Dollarama felt flowers. There is 3 sets. The last 2 hold prima Heavenlies. I really wanted to cram the blue/pink in one jar...but they're a picky bunch!
I have 6 of these cute mm jars from an embellishment set. I've decided to recycle them for button use. This jar holds a set of MME Just Dreamy buttons, in Star Bright. I couldn't resist them after getting a few in my May Just Cre8 kit. An impulse buy, that I don't reccommend lest you need therapy after... $6.99 for 100 buttons! :S

Everything on the left side of my hutch:

The centre of my hutch:

The right side of my hutch:

Here is what the top of it looks like all together. Minus the buttons, I've moved those to another location. :) I wanted to keep my buttons together. I definitely need more buttons though!
Well, I hope you enjoyed seeing part of my scrapbook room! There will be more in the future.... but it sure is a lot of working taking the pics/uploading/posting!

Don't forget to check out your local thrift stores for awesome jars! I'm addicted to jars!

Have a great weekend! xoxox

Blah

Sometimes, I wonder why I blog...I don't really have readers, I guess I don't really "share" my blog either. *shrug* Nothing much to share today but some weight loss stuff.

Anyways, I had WW tonight...and for the first time in weeks I've done good. I think? I lost 2.8 pounds...so after 9 weeks, 10 if you wanna count the one I skipped I am down 4.4 pounds. Sick. Sad? lol. Anyways, I am lucky enough to have such a caring leader, and we've been emailing back and forth all week and we've discussed many a thing. I really did do well this week. I feel particularly motivated and inspired for the coming week.

Week 1: First Weigh In (UGH!)
Week 2: -2.4 (yay)
Week 3: +.2
Week 4: -1.4
Week 5: ? (My scale obsession sabotaged me, and I was too depressed to go)
Week 6: +4.0 (Ugh...everything went down the drain with my depression)
Week 7: -.4 (not much of a loss, but only tried half heartedly)
Week 8: -1.2 (Admittedly, I didn't try overly hard)
Week 9: 0 (A little better than half heartedly...but had a bit of a revelation thx to my leader!)
Week 10: -2.8!!!

Hurray for week 10. Despite the sad ups and downs, I've made it through 10 weeks, learned a lot about myself, and have committed to trying harder and working out more frequently. I'll admit it here, sometimes I am too lazy to work out and rather do other "sedentary" things.

So, after 10 weeks I've lost 4.4. There are 52 weeks in a year...so who knows I just may lose 25 pounds in a year.;) LOL

I'm thinking of starting a weight loss blog, where I can talk about this stuff. What I'm doing, feeling etc. I think it may be helpful for me.

Not much...

I guess, one could call it a quick layout...but I struggled with it for 2 days! Yes, this simple layout, took me two days! I was torn with what to do with it (before placing the title and it's heart). I wanted to embellish, but no matter what I got out of my stash, nothing went, nothing fit....so I added the title, hoped for a chipboard heart in my stash, and left it at that.

Seeing it up on the computer, I feel good about it. Yes, it's simple...but that's how my layouts look best. I can't do really embellished. I need to give in to that fact.
The patterned papers and the chipboard train are all new stuff by Creative Imaginations. I got it in my secret sister swap. I probably wouldn't have picked it for myself, although I've toyed with getting it...and I am sooo glad my SS did get it for me! I actually picked this photo to go with the papers because of the colours in Alex's outfit. Then I realized, there was a chipboard train....and how perfect that he has trains in his little coming home outfit. :)
It's 1am, I'm starving...I have no points (weight watchers) but I think I'll go eat a handful of cauliflower. I must be demented! :)
Have a wonderful week!

A card and a layout

So, it would appear that I am having a great time with the June JustCre8 Kit. I am! I can't stop. I've done my fifth layout and now also a card! Part of the reason, is I'm trying to not spend as much money on scrap stuff...so I'm really using what I have. I had a cart full of stuff, and I just didn't get it. I have to focus on what's more important in my life right now. There was an awesome 2.5" scallop punch that I would have LOVED to have. But, just too much for me to spend, when I've put myself on this budget. *waaaahhhhh*

First, this card! It's going to be mailed off tomorrow to the rak recipient. :) The card is actually made using a divider from the cropper hopper paper holders. It was kind of fun to use, and different. I was worried about using my (tonic) trimmer on it, but it seemed to go ok..but I haven't tried cutting paper with it again, yet. Yikes! lol The little bits of bling are glued down piece by piece...wow, lots of work went into this card....I hope she likes it.

Here is the 5th layout using the June kit. I also couldn't resist the cute alligator that came in the Jack embellishment box. Furthermore, I couldn't resist using the Pink Paislee thought bubble stamp...and then adding a little heart into it. :)

The cute little chipboard hearts I got in a package from my secret sister today. They're part of a baby boy chipboard set by Creative Imaginations.
What you can't see on the layout is that the alligator, heart, 3 of the circles on the right, the centre of all the circles on the left are covered in mm glitter glaze, that came in the kit. :D I actually already had an opened bottle of it, well loved I must add...so a spare bottle will come in handy. :)

Enjoy your weekend!

Want to win a $50 GC???

Read on for details. ;)

This is the layout that I completed for the June Kit Challenge at Just Cre8. The challenge includes using the current kit and stamps. This months stamps were these awesome distressed alpha stamps. The challenge was to use 2 or more colour inks with the stamps. I used the 2 colours that came with the kit.

If you look at the rubon on the left hand side...the vine...see the white parts in it? Yeh...those aren't supposed to be there. The colour didn't RUB OFF the backing!!! WTH??? I guess I would be more upset if the layout didn't have the distressed look to it because of the paper. The rubons themself go on smoothly and are nice to work...maybe that one piece was a dud!

Anyway.... $50 worth of scrapbooking supplies??? You want??? LOL.
Lori over at Love Is In The Details has a challenge for you to make a layout using the ever popular chandelier!! Inspire her, upload your layout and you could win a $50 GC to the store!!! Pretty sweet! I'll admit I want to see chandelier layouts too, so the more the merrier. Check it out! :)

*smile*

Just wanted to share a layout I completed last night...again with the June JustCre8 kit. This one is a scraplift of the March CK cover. Jamie was so sweet when I had my surgery, he went and bought all the scrapbooking magazines he could find and brought them, because he didn't know which I would enjoy. ;)

The other little extras (smile, strawberry, layered flowers) are from the new K&CO line Berry Sweet. I LOVE this line, and there are a few other things that I need to get, the owls and PP mainly. :o
